What are the disadvantages of wireless surround sound speakers?

Timing.

The delay of the signal. Some Older receivers had a setting to work with them. However the disadvantages had most company to take this setting out as it suggested their product had lower standards.

Amplification.

Wireless system have under powered amps. They are also not as accurate. A Receiver manufacturer spends thousand of dollars on research. Some go as far as paying outside company to evaluate their equipment. IE THX,

Not Really Wireless

They Still need power. You have to find an outlet and run power to the small unit that receives the signal and then run speaker wire.
