I have seen wireless systems for surround sound rear speakers, but all of these still require wires between the 2 speakers. is there any system with 2 small devices that can be attached to the back of each speaker eliminating any wires?
No…they might interfere with cell phones, wireless home phones, home security systems and wireless modems.
What if your neighbor had a high powered system that was close to yours…? Guess what? You would be picking up his signals sometimes… These are just some of the reasons no one has come up with a good design.
i have a 500watt 5.1 samsung wireless dvd home theatre. using the auxilary would i be able to run my dj set up through these speakers?? please help!!!
Yes, just be careful with how loud you play the music or speak into a microphone when connected to your home theater. Professional sound systems are made to play loud and take some abuse. If the sound is distorted, turn it down. Distrortion will blow your speakers. Have fun!
I would like to watch my movies and music through my TV and was wondering if there is a DVD player on the market that has a USB connection on it to allow me to connect my computer to it and watch the files that I have stored in my computer.
Not in the way you describe.
The way I get files from my computer to the TV is with DVD-Rs. Many DVD players today can play DIVX encoded videos. You have to encode the video into the proper format, burn the disc and then play it on the DVD player.
Another method is to equip your computer with an analogue video output, usually S-Video. Many have this built in. Connect the computer to the TV and just play it on the computer. It will be mirrored on the TV.
AND ACTUALLY WORKS!
A home theater that would be best for a living room.
No where. $200 won’t get you much of anything unless it’s used & beat up.
my samsung home theater wireless rear speakers wont work. i had my it for about a month and then one day the reciever said it couldnt connect with the wireless speakers. what do you think it is?
Email Samsung service support center with your problem.
I want to buy my boyfriend a DVD player, but he wants one that has space to connect a surround sound system to it.
What does the DVD player (in terms of connections) need to have to make sure it will work with his existing surround sound?
Cheers x
The majority of DVD players (not including mobile or portable players) will have at least 1 of 3 available Digital Audio Output jacks:
1) Optical Digital output
2) Coaxial Digital output
3) HDMI output
With this info in hand, ask your boyfriend to confirm which of these correspond to his ’surround sound system’. Or better yet, why not just take him shopping and let him do the legwork to figure out the ‘right’ DVD player..
Don’t want to spend too much, but the quality has to be good as I want them to play music at a decent volume without distortion or lagging. Thanks guys x
Good?! Yeah, right
No, wireless is NOT preferable…for two primary reasons.
First off, the nature of the way a wireless speaker operates doesn’t make them wireless for practical reasons. To use a speaker wireless, the speaker has to have an amp built in. To run that amp requires power. To provide that power, you need do one of two things…either keep pumping batteries into the speakers…or plug them into the wall. The vast majority of people don’t want to keep spending the money on batteries so they plug them in. If you plug them into the wall, you just ran wires. And if you can run a power plug, you can run speaker cables.
The second reason wireless is inferior has to do with quality. There simply are no high performance wireless loudspeakers. You will never find a single high performance theater spec’d with wireless products. There are always bandwidth limitations to a line of sight wireless product and this is the last thing you want.
There are very few spots that if you think and plan, you can’t get wiring to. It is worth the extra effort.
