CES 2008: DOSS Wireless iPod Speaker Dock

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2009 and filed under Wireless stereo speakers | 1 Comment »

Ah, but it’s more cleverly wireless than you think – the wireless kicks in when the speakers are lifted, meaning you can have the iPod in one room and sound in two others. Nice.

Are Wireless Home Theatre Surround Speakers good?reliable?

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2009 and filed under Wireless home theatre | 3 Comments »

I’m planning to buy Samsungs HT-TZ322. its a home theatre system in a box. There is one that is exactly the same as this one, but it has a wireless rear speakers. And there’s one that doesn’t. The one that doesn’t is $100 cheaper.

I’d just like to know if its worth it and if its reliable. Because I’m afraid like in 3 or 4 years, that the wireless connections might start to break off and not be as clear for the rear speakers which are wireless.

Another concern is that wireless things are bad for health. I don’t know if i’m just paranoid or something, but when I use or am near wireless things I get dizzy. Like talking on a cellphone for a long time or using wireless laptop.

    What’s your thought?

    Thanks.

    hello,

You should know the Samsung rear wireless speakers are not really "wireless". They actually connect to a rear wireless "module" that have wires just like your other speakers. The main advantage being that you don’t run the wires to the front of the room, just connect to the module in the back of the room which receives the signal from a TX card on the main unit. As far as reliability, they do occasionally have defective TX cards (which provide the transmission from main unit to rear unit), but you can usually determine if you have a bad card within the 1st month or so. Samsung has a 1 year warranty on htheaters, so you can get them replaced. It’s quite rare that they go bad after that and you can always buy another card if it does after the warranty expires. Sometimes the tx cards lose contact with the rear unit and must be reset, which is a pain when entertaining. Are the wireless units worth it? It depends on your personality, some people cannot STAND to see wires running around the room. Personally, I’d rather have the unit wired up for a direct connection and reliability.
    -cheers, ps

Can I hook and Optical cord to a KS5190 surround sound dvd player?

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2009 and filed under Dvd player surround sound | 1 Comment »

I have a KS5190 surround sound DVD player and a Gamestop universal optical cable. Does the KS5190 have an optical port that I can plug the cable into and attach it to my Xbox 360?

Also does it make a difference what optical cord I use?

Also would that allow me to have surround sound on my Xbox 360?

You can if your surround sound system has optical input.

Are there any good wireless speakers for surround sound?

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2009 and filed under Wireless surround speakers | 3 Comments »

I’ve been thinking of buying a surround sound for my living room but the wires are such a mess. I know wireless may not produce the same sound quality but what is a good solution? Lets just say the budget goes only up to $1000 for example.

Wireless speakers sound terrible. The Bose 321 system another poster mentions does not sound like genuine surround sound in the home. A very high percentage of these are returned. If you do not feel qualified to fish wire through the walls and the attic pay someone to do it. Hard wired rears are the only way to get real surround sound!

Does anyone knows some wireless home theater system that really works well?

I found LG’s 360s but I wonder how it works with wireless computer network in the office, does it have interference?

There is no completely wireless home theater system yet available. Either way there is a power wire or some wire.
Anyway in the so called wireless home theaters RCA has a nice one with a long range. It is around 350 dollars for 600watts I believe. comes with DVD player.

    BluRay DVD player

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2009 and filed under Dvd player surround sound | 2 Comments »

Hey everyone, I’m Marc Gittleman for TekiTV.Com, where we are taking a look at the hottest new gadget on the market.

Ok, you’ve bought that flatscreen HDTV you’ve been eyeing for awhile.

You connected it to your DVR and where you queued up a slew of HD movies. You start transformers, and wonder, why all the pixilation? How do you get the picture quality from your HDTV that you expect?

The answer: A BluRay DVD player.

Cable and satellite compress all channels to fit down a small pipe, so when the helicopter changes into a six-story robot, you picture turns to garbage. Too much information too fast for the cable or satellite to keep up with.

So you are ready to choose a BluRay Player. But which one? Sony’s BDP-S300 Blu Ray Player is a solid choice from a company that is leading the industry in developing the new format. Retailing at just under 400 dollars, the BDP-S300 is a great value that delivers on every front.

With 1080p picture quality and 7.1 Dolby surround sound, this machine will help you create a movie theater quality experience in the comfort of your own home.

if you’re worried that a Blu Ray player means you have to go back and repurchase your entire movie collection, don’t sweat it… not only does the BDP-S300 play DVDs, it will also upscale the picture if you have the player hooked to your HDTV through HDMI outputs

if you a true cinemaphile, you will appreciate this: the BDP-S300 can play your movies at 24 frames per second, if you are not familiar, that is the speed Hollywood films are shot at.

So for a true home theater experience at a reasonable price, check the Sony BDP-S300. It is a great bet.
